Macarena Inspired Flash Mobs

Not long after the Macarena’s initial release, the phenomenon of flash mobs arose. The two were a match made in heaven. Here we recount some of our favorite Macarena inspired flash mobs. Did we forget to include your favorite Flashmob performance? Please let us know on the contact page.

Date: June 8th, 2011

Location: Viborg, Denmark 

A group of students at the Skals Boarding School (Denmark) created a flash mob for a school project. The requirement of the project was to demeonstrate the “definition of happiness.” 


Date: May 29th, 2016 (uploaded)

Location: Leipzig, Germany

Berlin may be the capital of Germany, but Leipzig (the countries most popoulous city) was the center of the Macarena universe when an outdoor festival erupted into a full macarena flash mob. Watch the video below. 


Macarena Flash Mob

Date: April 16th, 2011

Location: Lyon, France

April 16th, 2011 will always be a date that lives in Macarena lore. A large crowd engaged in a flash mob that conisted of a medley of different songs. Perahps most notably, The Macarena (second song after Be My Lover). Watch the video below.
